Rob Huff rijdt de snelste tijd in de straten van Macau

Rob Huff heeft het WTCC-weekend van Macau geopend met de snelste tijd. De Britse rijder was in de testsessie, die overigens onder natte omstandigheden werd verreden, bijna negen tienden sneller dan teamgenoot en kampioenschapsleider Yvan Muller.

Zoals gebruikelijk stonden er in de testsessie, die vooraf gaat aan de eerste training, weer drie Chevrolet's vooraan. Achter Huff en Muller eindigde echter niet de andere fabrieksrijder Alain Menu, maar was Independent-coureur Darryl O'Young goed voor de derde tijd. Tiago Monteiro volgde als vierde met een achterstand van 1,8 seconden, terwijl Menu de top vijf completeerde.

Daarachter volgde een heel treintje van privé-rijders. Franz Engstler kwam met de zesde tijd ruim 3,7 seconden tekort op de snelste tijd, gevolgd door Kristian Poulsen, Norbert Michelisz, Michel Nykjaer, Mehdi Bennani en Fredy Barth op de elfde plaats. Tom Coronel kwam in de eerste sessie niet verder dan de veertiende tijd met een achterstand van 7,0 seconden op Huff.
