Argentinië verwijderd van kalender, extra evenement in Europa

De organisatie van het World Touring Car Championship heeft het evenement in Argentinië, gepland voor 8 juli, geschrapt. In plaats daarvan wordt een extra ronde in Europa aan de kalender toegevoegd, maar de exacte locatie en datum zijn nog onbekend.

De onderhandelingen voor races in Argentinië namen langer dan verwacht in beslag en dat droeg bij aan het besluit om er voor 2012 maar van af te zien. Een woordvoerder van het WTCC verklaarde aan Autosport wel dat de serie de wens koestert om in 2013 alsnog naar het Zuid-Amerikaanse land af te reizen.
