James Thompson viert comeback met akkoord bij Lada

James Thompson keert volgend jaar terug in het World Touring Car Championship. De Brit heeft een meerjarige overeenkomst met Lada afgesloten, zo weet Autosport te melden. Lada heeft met de Granta een nieuw WTCC-project opgezet en verschijnt dit jaar in Hongarije en Portugal aan de start.

In april staat de eerste test op het programma op het circuit van Magny-Cours. Thompson: Ik ben verguld met dit akkoord. De structuur is compleet vernieuwd ten opzichte van 2009, met de oprichting van Lada Racing, en dat geeft me veel vertrouwen dat dit wat kan worden.

Eerder kwam ook Jaap van Lagen uit voor Lada in het WTCC.
