Muller en Huff gezamenlijk aan de leiding na Sonoma

Chevrolet-coureurs Yvan Muller en Rob Huff delen de koppositie in het World Touring Car Championship na het weekend op de Infineon Raceway. Muller zegevierde in race 1 in Sonoma, Huff triomfeerde in race 2 en beiden staan nu op 315 punten.

Merkgenoot Alain Menu volgt met 267 punten op gepaste afstand. Tom Coronel scoorde weer waardevolle punten, met een P8 in de eerste wedstrijd en op zondag kwam hij als vijfde over de finish. De Nederlander van ROAL Motorsport zag het gat naar de eretitel beste van de rest achter Chevrolet wel groeien. Gabriele Tarquini bezet momenteel de vierde positie, met 29 punten meer dan Coronel, die de hete adem van Norbert Michelisz in zijn nek voelt.
