Citroën lonkt naar World Touring Car Championship in 2014

Citroën is van plan om in 2014 toe te treden in het World Touring Car Championship. Dat bleek tijdens de persconferentie van het Franse automerk op de Paris Motor Show 2012. En veelvoudig rallykampioen Sebastien Loeb is een van de beoogde coureurs voor het WTCC.

De Fransman zal volgend jaar slechts een gedeeltelijk WRC-programma afwerken. Loeb verkondigde zelf dat het zijn doel is om in 2014 in de WTCC te stappen met Citroën. De vandaag gepresenteerde C-Elysee is een kandidaat om model te staan voor de WTCC-bolide, afhankelijk van de reglementen voor het mondiale toerwagenkampioenschap.
