Huff zet met ronderecord aardige stap richting eerste titel

Rob Huff heeft een dominante dag in Macau bekroond met pole position voor de eerste WTCC-race van het weekend op het stratencircuit. De Brit vestigde zelfs een kwalificatie-ronderecord met een 2:29.422. De Brit heeft aan een derde plek in de eerste wedstrijd genoeg om het kampioenschap in zijn voordeel te beslissen.

Chevrolet bleek weer oppermachtig in de kwalificatie, met na Huff ook Yvan Muller en Alain Menu in de top drie. Beste van de rest was Gabriele Tarquini, nu nog in de Seat, voor zijn toekomstig teamgenoot Tiago Monteiro in de Honda. Tom Coronel drong door verkeer niet door tot het laatste deel van de kwalificatie en moest genoegen nemen met de dertiende plek.
