Zengo Motorsport en Michelisz stappen over op Honda Civic

Zengo Motorsport verschijnt in elk geval de komende twee seizoenen met een Honda Civic aan de start van het World Touring Car Championship. Norbert Michelisz veroverde vorig jaar namens de Hongaarse renstal in een BMW de Yokohama Trophy, maar het was tijd voor iets nieuws.

Teambaas Zoltan Zengo: "Na het winnen van de Yokohama Trophy hadden we nieuwe doelen nodig. In Honda hebben we de perfecte partner gevonden om voor het kampioenschap te gaan. We danken Honda Hongarije en voelen ons vereerd dat men in Japan en Italië momenteel aan een topauto voor ons werkt. We wenden al onze middelen aan voor Norbert, we schrijven één wagen in."

William De Braekeleer, motorsportmanager Honda Motor Europe: "We waren altijd al van plan om de Civic beschikbaar te stellen voor privé-teams, dus we zijn zeer gelukkig met dit akkoord. Zengo Motorsport is een professionele equipe en Michelisz is een getalenteerde coureur. We zijn blij met hun keuze voor en vertrouwen in Honda. Ons doel is om ze van een optimaal pakket te voorzien."
