Argentinië op het schema in plaats van Brazilië

Het World Touring Car Championship zal dit jaar voor het eerst Argentinië bezoeken. Het 4,4 kilometer lange circuit van Termas de Rio Hondo is in het weekend van 4 augustus gastheer voor een ronde in het wereldkampioenschap voor toerwagens. Argentinië komt in de plaats van het evenement op Curitiba in Brazilië.

WTCC-manager Marcello Lotti: "Vanwege logistieke redenen hebben we besloten om Brazilië te vervangen door Argentinië. Echter, we onderhouden nauwe contacten met de Braziliaanse autoriteiten en zijn van plan om beide landen op de kalender voor 2014 te plaatsen. We zijn trots dat we voor het eerst naar Argentinië gaan. Dit is iets waar we al drie jaar aan werken en we zijn alle partijen die dit mede mogelijk hebben gemaakt zeer dankbaar."
