Huff, Muller en Menu op de shortlist bij Citroën

Citroën is druk bezig met de voorbereidingen op het debuutseizoen in het World Touring Car Championship in 2014. De invulling van de stoeltjes is daar een wezenlijk onderdeel van. Rallykampioen Sebastien Loeb is al zeker van zijn plek, voor het andere zitje komen meerdere rijders in aanmerking.

Erkende WTCC-krachten als Yvan Muller, Rob Huff en Alain Menu staan op de shortlist van Citroën, zo bekende teambaas Yves Matton tegenover Autosport. "De top drie van vorig jaar bevindt zich in de beste positie, maar de ideale line-up hebben we nog niet gevonden. Elk van de kandidaten heeft zijn eigen sterke punten. We hebben echter geen haast. Misschien testen we eerst met de kandidaten voordat we de knoop doorhakken."

"Ik wil de best beschikbare rijder aanstellen. Dat hangt niet alleen af van performance, maar ook van hoe hij in het team past, met Loeb samen kan werken en Citroën aan de titel kan helpen. Het technische aspect is voor ons heel belangrijk zodat we ons zo snel mogelijk verbeteren. We luisteren naar Sebastien, maar ik heb het laatste woord. Ik hoop aan het einde van de zomer iets aan te kunnen kondigen."
