RML bouwt zes Chevrolets voor seizoen 2014

RML nadert een akkoord met Chevrolet over het ontwerp en de productie van zes auto's onder de World Touring Car Championship-reglementen voor 2014. Dat achterhaalde Autosport. RML is al begonnen met de voorbereiding op volgend seizoen, al staat het licht nog niet definitief op groen.

Chevrolet trok zich eind 2012 uit het WTCC terug als fabrieksteam. Sindsdien runt RML het programma voor het automerk. Voor volgend jaar gaan de regels in de toerwagenserie op de schop. RML heeft medewerking van Chevrolet nodig om de wagens daarop aan te passen.

Het team denkt zes auto's in gereedheid te kunnen brengen voor de start van de nieuwe jaargang. Tel daarbij vier Honda's, drie Citroëns en drie Lada's op en de grid bevat dan zestien bolides. BMW, waarin Tom Coronel rijdt, neigt naar een afscheid van het WTCC.
