Alexander Sims gediskwalificeerd, Melker alsnog op pole position

Alexander Sims is na afloop van de eerste GP3-race in Hongarije gediskwalificeed. De bolide van de Brit kwam niet door de technische keurig van de FIA, omdat de achterkant van de vloer niet aan de eisen voldeed.

Hiermee raakt Sims niet alleen de vijfde plaats uit de race kwijt, ook heeft Valtteri Bottas, die de eerste race op zijn naam schreef, de leiding in het kampioenschap overgenomen van de Brit. Tevens schuift Nigel Melker door de diskwalificatie een positie op naar de achtste stek, wat hem de pole position geeft voor de tweede race. Sims start de tweede manche achteraan.
